What is your designation with the US employer?

In this question the Visa Officer is asking designation of the new Job. We have to be very careful about the designation.

Possible Answer:
  • If you are a Java or .Net programmer then you should have a designation as Programmer Analyst.
  • If you are a UNIX or some server admin or a DBA then the designation will be System Admin or Database Admin.

Dont mess with your designation, if there is any conflit in the designation then you will not get the visa. For example if you are telling that your designation is programmer analyst (As per the offer letter) and when the Visa officer ask you what is you job role then if you are telling that you are going to maintain some database server, then they will reject the Visa. So more care should be takend in getting the offer letter and answering this question.
